- Book early: Flights tend to be more affordable when booked 2–4 months in advance.

- Fly into Accra (ACC): Look for flights arriving at Kotoka International Airport, the main airport in Accra.

- Compare options: Use sites like Google Flights, Expedia, or your preferred airline to compare prices and routes.

- Plan for layovers: Many flights from the U.S. include a layover in Europe or another international hub—choose what feels most comfortable for you.

- Check baggage & passport details: Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months and review airline baggage policies ahead of time.

Yellow Fever Vaccine 💉

Ghana requires all travelers to show proof of a Yellow Fever vaccination upon entry, so please plan ahead!

What to Know:

- The vaccine is required for entry and you’ll need to present your Yellow Fever vaccination certificate (yellow card) at the airport.

- Schedule your appointment at an authorized travel clinic or healthcare provider.

- You must receive the vaccine at least 10 days before travel for it to be valid.

- In most cases, the vaccine provides lifetime protection, so you may already be covered if you’ve had it before.

We recommend booking your appointment as early as possible, as availability can sometimes be limited.

How to Get a Ghana Visa (for U.S. Citizens):

Visit the official Ghana Embassy website and complete the online visa application form.

Print and sign your application.

Gather required documents:

- Valid U.S. passport (must be valid for at least 6 months)

- Passport-sized photos

- Proof of travel (flight itinerary)

- Yellow Fever vaccination certificate

- Pay the visa fee online.

- Mail or deliver your application and documents to the Ghana Embassy or a visa processing center.

Processing times can vary, so we recommend applying at least 4–6 weeks before your trip.
